Why does my safety switch keep tripping?
A safety switch that keeps tripping is usually caused by a faulty appliance, moisture in a circuit, or old wiring starting to break down. The first thing to do is unplug everything on that circuit and reset the switch. If it trips again with nothing plugged in, the problem is in the wiring itself and it needs a proper diagnosis. Do I need to upgrade my smoke alarms under QLD law?

The old ionisation alarms and standalone battery units no longer cut it. If you’re selling or renting out a property, compliant alarms have to be in place before settlement or a new lease starts.
